Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Training

Live TRAINING | 21/11/2024 – 09 a.m.-06 p.m. | at SIDEL

On average, the efficiency of equipment in the company amounts to 35-40%, equivalent to a failure rate of about 60%. In many situations in our personal lives, we would not be happy with failure rates of 60%. Today, under very challenging exogenous and endogenous conditions, a company cannot afford to waste money, time, energy, and performance due to equipment failure.

Why TPM (TOTAL PRODUCTIVE MAINTENANCE)

TPM is an approach to maintenance that aims to maximize the efficiency, reliability, and productivity of plant and equipment through the involvement of all workers, transforming maintenance from an exclusive function of technical staff to a shared, participatory responsibility. This approach brings numerous benefits to the company:

  • Increased operational efficiency: reduces unplanned downtime and increases equipment availability, improving the overall efficiency of manufacturing operations
  • Reduced maintenance costs caused by defects and associated “quick action” measures through regular and standardized maintenance and inspection
  • Improved product quality: with equipment better maintained and operating at full capacity, product quality tends to improve. Reduced breakdowns and defects contribute to more uniform, high-quality production
  • Increased productivity of equipment and its service life
  • Promotion of workers’ sense of ownership of their work environment (equipment and tools) and their integration into maintenance and repair activities. TPM encourages a culture of continuous improvement, where every employee is involved in improving business processes and practices
  • Increased workplace safety: well-maintained equipment reduces the risk of accidents and sudden breakdowns that can endanger worker safety. TPM also promotes safe and conscious work practices

With increased operational efficiency, better product quality, and reduced maintenance costs, companies can become more competitive in the market by offering better products at more competitive prices.
