Japan trip November 11-15, 2024
Organized by STAUFEN.ITALIA and ODEXA
Japan has always been considered the cradle of the production organization method named Lean Thinking by American scholars and mainly represented by the Toyota Production System (TPS). The method was invented and first introduced in Toyota starting from the late 1940s. Basic principles of TPS, or Lean Thinking, in particular are the focus on value stream, continuous improvement, waste reduction, and people-centeredness.
Today, more than 70 years after the invention of TPS, its principles are still valid and more useful than ever: in a context of instability and uncertainty, in which the market is increasingly demanding and new challenges present themselves to companies every day (digitization, sustainability, supply chain complexity), it is clear how waste reduction and continuous improvement are vital. Without forgetting the role of people, representatives of corporate culture, as key to implementing business strategies and achieving goals.
Agenda
- Visits to four companies that excel in Continuous Improvement methodologies, performance and achievements
- Seminar by JMAC Tokyo. Alternatively, you can visit the Karakuri Fair
- Debrief session and lesson learned by Fabio Salomone, General Manager of STAUFEN.ITALIA
